HERA

HERA, Humanities in the European Research Area, is a collaborative network that aims at strengthening, financing and developing the evaluation of humanities research in Europe. HERA network comprises 26 European research funding organisations.

Five research programmes have been implemented within the network:

• ‘Cultural Dynamics: Inheritance and Identity’ and ‘Humanities as a Source of Creativity and Innovation’ (2010–2013), total funding approx.. €16.5m; Finnish research teams involved in four funded projects
• ‘Cultural Encounters’ (2013–2016), total funding approx. €18m; Finnish research teams involved in two funded projects
• ‘Uses of the Past’ (2016–2019), total funding approx. €21m; Finnish research teams involved in two funded projects
• ‘Public Spaces – Culture and Integration in Europe” (2019–2022), total funding approx. €20m; Finnish research teams involved in two funded projects.
