LEAP-Agri

LEAP-Agri aims to open up opportunities for European and African research teams to join forces within food and nutrition security and sustainable agriculture and aquaculture. The objective of LEAP-Agri is to finance research projects between African and European countries with the support of national funders and the European Commission, and to provide long-term support for high-level political dialogue between Europe and Africa in science, technology and innovation.

The Research Council of Finland became a partner of the LEAP-Agri ERA-NET Cofund in 2016.

The network launched a call for proposals in 2017. A total of some 23 million euros was granted to 27 consortium projects, including 250 African and European teams from 20 different countries. The Research Council of Finland funded five Finnish partners with a total of 1 million euros. See the list of funded projects on the LEAP-Agri website.
