More Years, Better Lives – The Potential and Challenges of Demographic Change (JPI MYBL)
Europe is facing a demographic change as a result of rising life expectancy and falling birth rates. JPI MYBL is aimed at enhancing coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration between European and national research programmes related to demographic change. JPI MYBL has members from 17 countries. Finland has two representatives in the initiative: Head of Unit, Docent Minna-Liisa Luoma from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and Jaana Seikkula-Leino, member of the Research Council of Finland’s Scientific Council for Culture and Society, from the the Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
Research Council of Finland has been MYBL member since 2011. The Research Council has participated in all four calls and funded eleven Finnish participants in nine consortia with a total of some 2.0 million euros.
