European Partnership on transforming health and care systems (THCS)
Rapidly ageing populations, labour shortages, the challenges posed by climate change, sudden pandemics or other emergencies that put a sudden strain on healthcare, and rising costs are major challenges facing European healthcare. At the same time, citizens expect the quality and accessibility of health services to be maintained.
The European Partnership on transforming health and care systems (THCS) is a Cofund action under Horizon Europe that brings together 64 partners from 26 countries to contribute to the transition towards more sustainable, efficient, resilient, inclusive, innovative and high-quality people-centred health and care systems equally accessible to all people.
The aim of the Partnership is to produce research-based data to support the development and integration of European health systems, intensifying cooperation between countries and ensuring that policymakers have access to the latest research to support their decision-making. At the same time, the aim is to support the research and deployment of health technology innovations. All this must be done following the principles of sustainable development and with economic efficiency, and by involving various stakeholders more closely in the development and implementation.
