The Academy's of Finland's September call is now open
The Academy of Finland’s September call is open. You can apply for funding for a research post as Academy Research Fellow, Postdoctoral Researcher and Clinical Researcher, funding for international researcher mobility and Academy Project funding. There is also an open call for letters of intent for funding for a research post as Academy Professor. Applications can now be submitted in the Academy of Finland’s online services.
In the September 2019 call, 25 million euros in additional funds are allocated to the Academy Project funding to support the younger generation of researchers. The applications will be reviewed and decided on as Academy Project applications. The research councils will choose the projects that will receive the additional funding.
The basis for receiving funding from the Academy of Finland is the high quality, impact and renewal of research. Additionally, the Academy requires that all Academy-funded research projects commit to open access publishing. The research plan must also describe how the project takes into account the principles of sustainable development and the ethical research.
Clarified guidelines and call texts for each funding opportunity
The call texts have been reformed: each funding opportunity has its own site with a list of its dedicated contact persons. Additionally, all material related to application is now collected in the Academy’s application site in the A–Z index of application guidelines.
Call guidance continues
The Academy of Finland organises a call guidance event on Twitter 17 September at 14–15. The Academy’s experts answer questions tagged with the #AskApplyChat. You can also send your questions beforehand. You will find additional information on the outlines and bases for applying and reviewing in the Academy’s new guidance videos.
