All Academy events scheduled for this spring will be held online
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Academy of Finland has decided that all Academy events and meetings to be organised in spring 2020 will be held online. In addition, some events will be cancelled or postponed.
We are taking steps to ensure that key activities related to our calls and funding will continue running and that we will be able to provide advice as needed, despite these exceptional circumstances.
At present, changes have been made to the following events:
- Health from Science (TERVA) Academy Programme Seminar (18 May) has been cancelled
- The Academy Programme for development research (Develop) Seminar (25.-26. May) will be postponed to autumn
- Strategic Research themes, public hearing, 28 May 2020 will be online
- Strategic Research, Ratkaisuja tieteestä 2020 -event (October) has been cancelled
Follow our updates at www.aka.fi for information on events and possible cancellations of events to be held in the near future. If an event is cancelled, we will personally contact those who have registered.
Changes to meeting practices
We will also make extensive use of remote connections in meetings of our decision-making bodies. All preparatory and decision-making meetings scheduled for this spring will be held online. In addition, all review panel meetings held before the summer holidays will be organised by remote access.
We aim to keep to the call and decision schedules
In the light of current information, the coronavirus situation will not cause any changes to our decision schedules or call deadlines. We will actively monitor the situation and inform you of any changes as soon as possible.
Follow our updates at www.aka.fi for information on any changes to our activities caused by the coronavirus situation.
