Academy of Finland to launch a new call for inviting researchers from Ukraine to Finland

The Academy of Finland is preparing a call for applications for funding to invite researchers from Ukraine to Finland to do research. The call will open in early 2023. The aim is to support researchers who are prevented from working in Ukraine because of Russia’s attack and who need physical protection to be able to carry out their research.

The funding is applied for by a researcher based in Finland, and they must have secured a commitment from the site of research. The funding covers the invitee’s travel and living expenses in Finland, not the costs of the research work.

The total funding budget is 500,000 euros. A similar call was last open in June 2022.
