Pre-announcement: RCF call on sustainable future energy solutions coming in spring 2025

31 Jan 2025

The Research Council of Finland (RCF) is planning to launch a new thematic call for applications focusing on sustainable energy solutions of the future. The call will be part of the RCF’s spring 2025 call. The call is built around a holistic and systemic approach to renewable and emission-free energy solutions. Increasing our carbon handprint is at the heart of future solutions.

The call will be implemented as part of a cooperation between the RCF’s Climate-Synergy Academy Programme and Business Finland’s Flexible Energy Systems programme. The aim of the cooperation is to reinforce the linkages between research and business.

The funding is targeted at consortia of research teams representing at least two fields of research. A maximum of 1 million euros can be awarded to a single consortium over four years, with a total of 10 million euros earmarked for the whole call. The funding period starts on 1 January 2026.

The details of the call will be announced in the call text and at a call webinar in March 2025.
