Learning to be digital consumers: How to improve young people's financial skills in a technologically driven consumer society? (DigiConsumers)
Public description of the goals at the beginning of the project
Technology and digitalisation have caused major changes in the consumer cultures and financial behavior of young people, in particular. Along with the digitalisation of e.g. payments and loans, new financial skills are required from young people. These skills are not learned enough in schools. DigiConsumers project aims at developing educational and technical tools to improve young people’s financial skills and financial literacy in digitalising consumer environments. Our consortium is multi-disciplinary, utilising theories and methodologies from the fields of sociology, psychology, educational sciences, cognitive science, economics and ICTs. The project also co-operates and interacts with various societal, commercial and political stakeholdrs.
